Hendon Rotary vows support to provide care for children in Cambodia

A young lady – Benedicta Bywater – is the founder of this relatively new charity in Cambodia. She came to talk to us and we all became very enthusiatic to support this very worthwhile cause. Benedicta spends six month of the year at her newly set up Mlop Children’s Home. She has even learned Cambodian and is now fluent in the language. President Ayo has chosen Safe Haven as his charity of the year but we hope that we will be able to carry our support further in time.

Please visit the SAFE HAVEN website to find out more. You can even make a donation via

Mlop opened its doors in 2010. Children who were orphaned and in many cases homeless, are now living in a safe, caring environment. Day care currently has 25-30 children and that number is set to expand. Currently 5 children are in residential care and 40 families are in a parent support programme and yet more are being monitored and evaluated.

Many of the children had serious health problems, such as tubercolosis, typhoid and malnutrition. THEY HAVE FULLY RECOVERED !
